In this psychological drama, an act of gun violence strikes a married couple in California’s Central Valley, resulting in a ripple effect involving a young gang member and her ancestral past rooted in South America. The microcosm of their lives plays out against the backdrop of a dying monarch population, an unprecedented heat wave, and a magical force that binds them to a world on the brink of collapse.

Currently in early development, this is Emily’s first narrative feature. The screenplay was completed with the Rainin Fellowship and seeks to bring on a producer and fundraise for production in 2026.
